Froude will hosted a lunchlecture in honour of our symposium. For this lecture, we invited C-Job Naval Architects with their maritime designer awards Accelerated Concept Design he told us more about ship design in 2050. Nominee data scientist Roy de Winter presented ship optimization from a different perspective. Roy has a background in informatics & data science. His view on ships as a mathematical optimization problem is somewhat different than the classical design spiral. The combination of this optimization problem with high-performance computing results in real-time practical application.
